The local solar family that shows you the workings.
Hardy Solar has designed and installed solar across Northern NSW & the Gold Coast for over a decade, with 5,000+ systems in the ground and every one fitted by our own crew. In that time we learned the thing buyers actually want is not a lower number, it is a quote they can trust. So we built the business around making ours legible.
Most solar jobs go wrong before the first panel goes up. A system sized to the rebate instead of the bill. A battery sold as backup that cannot run in an outage. Panels bolted onto a board that cannot carry the export. By the time the owner sees the problem, the generation that never came, the inverter fault nobody monitored, the failed inspection, the cheap installer is long gone.
Hardy Solar grew up on the Tweed coast with a simple idea: write the quote so the engineering is impossible to hide. The usage read, the shading study, the named SunPower panel and Fronius inverter, the STC line, the compliance deliverables. Put next to a cheaper quote, ours does not look dearer. It looks complete. That is usually the whole conversation.
You cannot inspect a panel brand or a shade study after the install. So we make it something you can read on the quote instead, before you sign, not after the system underperforms for a decade.
Today we run two bases, Kingscliff / Chinderah and Ballina, covering Northern NSW and the Gold Coast across solar, battery, EV charging, maintenance and commercial solar, with our own crew on every job and no travel surcharge within 50km of either office.
Three things we will not compromise on.
We name the panel and the inverter, not just the price
A cheap quote sells you a kW count and "good panels", then the corners turn up on the roof. We name the exact SunPower panel and Fronius inverter on the quote, with their warranties, and show the STC as a dollar figure. The system you sign for is the one we install.
Sized to your bill, not the rebate
Sometimes the honest answer is a smaller system, or a switchboard upgrade before the solar. We size to your actual usage and tell you what you really need, even when it is the smaller job, because a customer who trusts the first quote is the one who calls back for the battery and the EV charger.
Our own crew, and everything in writing
No subcontractors we have never met. Hardy systems are installed by our own in-house crew, certified to AS/NZS 5033 and 4777, with the Certificate of Electrical Safety, the named gear and the warranty with its exclusions, all on the quote. No door-knock pricing, no one-number text.
Who we are the right installer for, and who we are not.
We would rather lose a job to a fairer fit than win one we will both regret. Here is who Hardy suits.
If you want the cheapest number on the street or a panel brand nobody will name, we are probably not your installer. If you want a quote you can read, a system sized to your bill, and an install by our own crew that still makes sense in ten years, that is the whole business.
